The nursery Thoruplund

The Nursery Thoruplund A/S

Since 1946 the nursery Thoruplund has been renowned for its efficient and goal-orientated product development. That has led to strong, durable and heat-tolerant plants with an abundance of buds, which are all characteristics of Thoruplund’s products.

There is also an increasing interest in Thoruplund’s small plants marketed under the name THOR. They are available either as speedlings (ready for potting) or as cuttings without roots.

Thoruplund has at its disposal a covered area of 39,000 m and an outdoor area of 27 hectares, and here more than 6 million plants a year are produced.

Since 1974 the production of finished products has been focused on the plants Campanula, Ginkgo, Schlumbergera and Rhipsalidopsis.

At Thoruplund quality management is an integral part of the production process. The objective is to ensure customers and consumers uniform and first-class plants. Environmental issues are also given top priority, and Thoruplund is a participant in the international environmental programme MPS. Biological control, use of rainwater and the re-circulation of water and fertilizer are integral parts of Thoruplund’s production process.
